Chaos? Jesus Speaks Peace.
Mark 4:35-41
I read this story, time and time again. And how beautiful is the picture of our Creator calming the scary, spraying waves, that tempt to plunge us into the dark depths of the sea.
However, I have a very different response in the day-to-day storms. I forget that the One who stood up and with a few words, made the wind and waves cease.
The truth is, He doesn't always choose to calm the storm. However, that doesn't for a moment mean He has lost the control or the power.
What it shows is that our faith is small or all together lacking. Where has it gone? At the first sign of trouble, does it fly right out the window?
There is no room for fear, or doubt, when we confidently know that the Creator of the seas, the Creator of our hearts is saying, "Peace! Be still!" to the storms inside us.
The next minute, next hour, or day, or even month you feel swamped by the waves in your world. The next time you feel like everything in your world is perishing right in front of you, cry out to Your Maker. Ask for that peace, He so willingly bestows on every heart, that cries out for it!

Brady and I, are stepping into the unknown as we move up to Oregon. I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that the Lord goes before us and is our Perfect Peace.
